SOUTH BEND / MISHAWAKA, IN – May Oberfell Lorber, LLP is happy to announce partner promotions and new attorney hires over the past year.
Laura Faulstich earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2015, and received her undergraduate degree in 2011 from Indiana University. Prior to joining May Oberfell Lorber, Laura worked locally as an attorney. Laura is involved in numerous community activities and is a co-founder of Women in Business After Hours, LLC. Laura’s primary areas of practice are Wills, Trust & Estate Planning and Administration, Guardianships and Real Estate.
Savannah Gutierrez earned her J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2023. She received her undergraduate degree in 2020 from Butler University. While in law school, Savannah served as President of Sports and Entertainment Law Society and competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Savannah’s primary practice areas are Corporate & Business, Employee Benefits, Litigation, and Medical Malpractice.
Katherine Iskin earned her J.D. from Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in 2009. She received her undergraduate degree in 2006 from Center College. Prior to joining May Oberfell Lorber, LLP, Katherine worked for the Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee for over a decade. Katherine’s primary practice areas are Bankruptcy, Banking, and Employee Benefits.
Cortney Sweat earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2017. She received her undergraduate degree in 2014 from Purdue University. She is a former deputy prosecuting attorney. Previously, Cortney handled guardianship modifications/terminations, power of attorney accountings, protection orders, and various other general litigation cases. Cortney’s primary practice areas are Medical Malpractice, Family and Domestic, and Litigation.
Nicole Lewis earned her J.D. from Indiana University, Maurer School of Law in 2024. While in law school, Nicole worked as a research assistant, received editor acknowledgment in the newest edition of a labor law casebook, and competed in the Shermon Minton Moot Court competition.
May Oberfell Lorber, LLP Attorneys Nathan Barnes and Janelle Cooper were promoted to partner effective January 2024.
Nathan’s primary practice areas are Wills, Trust & Estate Planning & Administration, and Elder Law.
Janelle primarily practices in defending medical malpractice claims.
