Jane joined May Oberfell Lorber in 2026 after a twenty year career in criminal and public interest law. She served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Marion County (Indianapolis) and for offices of the New Mexico District Attorney, with a focus on the prosecution of violent crimes, crimes against children, and domestic violence. In 2020, she was selected as an Elder Justice Program Fellow by Equal Justice Works. During her fellowship, she provided legal assistance to Hoosiers aged 60 and older who suffered abuse, neglect, and exploitation, with an emphasis on the rural areas of the state. She transitioned to senior staff attorney in the Legal Assistance for Victimized Adults Project at Indiana Legal Services after her Fellowship.

In 2003 Jane was the inaugural co-recipient of the Lefstein Legacy Scholarship at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis for having demonstrated a commitment to public service, including a willingness to assist persons who are economically disadvantaged. She served as President of the Asian Law Students Association and received recognition for contributing over 50 hours to the school’s Pro Bono Program. In 2021 she presented at the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s national conference on “The Hidden Epidemic of Elder Abuse in AAPI Communities” with the US Department of Justice’s Elder Justice Coordinator.
