Summer Associate Program for Law Students
May Oberfell Lorber’s paid summer associate program is a key component to our recruiting and growth. Our summer associate program is the primary way in which we hire first-year Associates. Many Partners started their legal careers as summer associates with our firm and have called May Oberfell Lorber, LLP home ever since.
Our summer associates receive hands-on experience and training with Associates and Partners, as we aim to provide summers associates a realistic view of the dynamics of a law firm and the practice of law. Summer associates work directly with associates and partners on cases including participating in depositions, mediations, and trials; drafting transactional documents; drafting court pleadings; and conducting legal research.
Summer associates are provided with an office, assistant, and paralegal. Summer associates also receive a mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluation from MOL’s Executive Committee.
Throughout the summer we also make time for social activities such as Cubs games, lake house cookouts, casino trips, happy hours, and family picnics. Summer associates also regularly grab lunch with Associates and Partners throughout the summer, thus ensuring that summer associates develop relationships with MOL attorneys outside of the work setting.
If you are interested in applying for a summer associate position with May Oberfell Lorber, LLP, please send us your cover letter and resume.
